Back-Tack Away

Back-Tack Notions Holder
Originally uploaded by Hells Bells.

Here is my final back-tack contribution which I finally sent off on the weekend, reviving feelings of handing in late assignments! But am pretty happy with the result - lots of handsewing detail - but not half as much as the original crazy pattern from Quilts Japan.

The outside is fairly plain with a little ric-rac detail and I embroidered the recipient's web name on the back. But will keep that as a suprise until it arrives.

Inside has little pouches for scissors, pencil and needle threader and a flower-pot pin cushion.

I used most of the stash from Kath and made a little drawstring bag with leftover fabric - its lined with the red spots.

I was just browsing the back-tack gallery to see that you and I were inspired by the same Quilts Japan project!!! What are the odds? I guess great minds think alike ;) Great to see how we interpreted the project differently...

Helen!!! I received my beautiful back-tack package and I LOVE IT!! Thank you so much for making such a lovely and detailed sewing morsel. I love the applique as well! and the draw-string bag is so sweet and handy. What wonderfully cheerful fabric. I feel very lucky! I will be posting a pic to the site this week. thank you thank you!

I'm also so glad to hear that you and those you know are okay after the scary and tragic episode in London recently. i sent my prayers to everyone there, and to the world.
